There are exciting community projects on the horizon, for which we are exploring funding streams. Keep watching this space for updates.

Workshops:
For children: storytelling, film, acting, chromakey and animation workshops are in the planning stage. We are also planning a ‘Youtube’ seminar: plan, shoot and edit a video on your mobile phone then upload it.

‘Gaolbird’: Research leads us to question whether prison ‘works’ for women, yet more and more women are being imprisoned in Britain. We would like to conduct a filmed exploration of the lives and minds of some of these women: the conditions leading to their conviction; their experience of prison; their hopes for the future; their regrets. We want to help these women, through workshopping and film, to gain and express an insight into their condition firstly as women, secondly as convicts.

‘You’re almost as good as a boy, George’.
The last hundred years has seen some women achieve the most incredible feats of intellect and strength of character, overcoming almost insuperable obstacles to do so, yet never being regarded as anything more than substitutes for men: ‘You’re almost as good as a boy, George’: Enid Blyton; the Famous Five. We intend to investigate some of these high-flyers, some of whom were able to combine their roles with those of wife and mother. We intend, too, to look at the expectations of women who found an independence and new identity in wartime, only to be expected to relinquish it when the war was over.

‘Remember Me’: exhaustive reminiscence/re-enactment project which aims to bridge the age-divide by counterpointing the memories of the elderly with the current experiences of the young in a local context. Heritage based.
